Dog Jewelry, Decorations and Armor
The Chinese Year of the Dog
Since February 16 was Chinese New Years and 2018 is the year of the dog, I thought I’d reprise an earlier post on this beloved canine. Especially since I was born in the year of the dog!
And just so you know, according to Chinese astrologists, those born in the year of the dog are loyal and honest, amiable and kind, cautious and prudent, always willing to help others, and were born with a good nature.
(I wonder if they also like treats and like to be petted.)
The LA Times Celebrates Doggy Decoration
I want to celebrate our love of animals and dogs with doggy decorations and dog jewelry for us. So dive in with me.
Recently, I came across a great article from the Los Angeles Times, “Celebrate your furry friends with animal-inspired fashion and jewelry,” that showcases many fun ways to showcase your pet-loving personality.
The deliciously long article spotlights designers and brands that offer a variety of clever and creative ways to incorporate your pet-loving penchant into every part of your life, and features animal-tastic items designers I love like Bibi Van der Velden .
More Jewelers Celebrating Animals
Charlotte Olympia who designs shoes, clutches and more makes my day with this golden cutie-pie clutch.
Hermes has made scarves, purses and jewelry with animal motifs for years and they are so worth following.
Gucci who for years has included animal themes in their jewelry has this wonderful Pug key chain decoration that I must share.
Pippo Perez makes a beautiful dog necklace I really wanted to show off.
Now For Some Doggy Decorations
The “Pet Jewelry” market has been growing exponentially over the last 5 years.
That means the choices for you and your dog in the jewelry department, just got a lot more fun.
If a diamond necklace for Fido isn’t in the budget you can still find great choices, from items designed to celebrate your furry friends, to “doggy charms” created to dangle from the collar of your precious pooch.
Dogs In Wigs!

Is this a wig?
Hair extensions?
Was she flown to the Caribbean to be braided just right?
The pink barrettes on the end spice up her look quite completely.
Dogs in Seriously Fab Chokers

I think this little girly-dog got her hair cut and styled too!
She’s tasteful in an all pink doggy jewelry ensemble.
Her choker is seriously knocking me out.
Now For Some Doggy Armor

This li’l fella is so cute.
He’s striking quite the pose.
As if he’s into it.
Maybe he barks more ferociously when in this armored outfit.
Who Could Resist an Armored Basset Hound?

Picture the wind machine blowing.
Then the loud rock music, something like, “We Are the Champions.”
Our li’l Basset Hound here just falls asleep.
So in desperation his owner catches a shot of him awake and photoshops this get up on him.
Dog Jewelry for Dogs
Want to celebrate your fur baby with a gold or silver design? Your choices are practically limitless!
Less expensive designs include generic silver paw print shaped charms that can be engraved with a name or date or a phone number in case your dog goes on a trip without letting you know.
Or cute charms in silver or gold made in the likeness of your dog’s breed.
Or get more creative with dog jewelry paw prints that have enameling or cz stones set into them. Turn your dog into an Art Dog!
Celebrate Your Dog by Wearing Him When You’re Apart
More elaborate pieces include your pets actual portrait or paw print laser-engraved onto a gold or silver disk that can be worn as a pendant on a necklace, or added as a charm to a bracelet.
Preserving your never-ending love for you pet has never been easier, with dog jewelry, or more fashionable,
What a fascinating world it is that we live in that we can so decorate our dogs. And ourselves to fly our pet loving flag.
