I have an engagement ring that I’ve had sized like four times. I’ve been married five years and have MS, so I’ve been changing medications and that effects my finger size.
The problem is that my ring is engraved all the way around and it’s costing a fortune for each sizing as my local jeweler in our small town keeps having to ship it away to re-engrave after the sizing messes up the engraving.
I’m getting ready for a new medicine regime. I don’t want to be without my ring for four weeks and out of spare cash. Is there something you can do?

Dear MS Girl,
I’m sorry about your MS. I hope your treatment is going well and your life is full.
I’d like to suggest you have your local jeweler request that the mail away engraver creates a sizing bar for you. This is an area of no engraving with border lines that separates the area from the engraving. This should remove the need for your ring to be re-engraved after sizing.
Your ring will still be gorgeous and you won’t have to wait so long to get it back.
